Pianist Wilson Casallas presents an evening of vivid musical landscapes and transcendent fantasy at 7:00 PM in The Listening Room at Second.

The program journeys through the fiery colors of Spain and Brazil with selections from Isaac Albéniz’s Iberia, including the celebrated Triana, alongside Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4. The evening culminates in Franz Liszt’s monumental Après une lecture du Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata (“Dante Sonata”), a work of immense drama inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Blending rhythmic vitality, orchestral sonorities, and virtuosic brilliance, this recital explores themes of dance, ritual, poetry, and transcendence in some of the piano repertoire’s most evocative works.
